Our Four Pillar Teaching Framework
Our 4-Pillar Framework underpins everything you will learn in the course. It is designed to replace fragmented nutritional knowledge with a clear, coherent, and clinically meaningful structure. Rather than memorising disconnected facts about diets, supplements, or conditions, this framework shows you the full arc of how the human body is meant to function, how and why dysfunction develops, how nutrition and lifestyle influence those processes, and how to translate science into real-world change. By understanding this sequence, you gain the clarity and confidence that so many practitioners find missing when they try to apply their training in practice.
Across the four pillars — Anatomy & Physiology, Pathophysiology, Nutrition and Lifestyle in the Aetiology of Disease, and Nutrition as a Therapeutic Intervention through Culinary Medicine — you learn to think and operate like a practitioner.
Nutritional Science & Theory
This is a sample of what is the fundamental part of each module. The evidence based theory and science of nutrition and nutritional medicine. This is where we move through normal physiology, through to disease process and then of course how nutrition fits into this picture.Â
The Biology Of Inflammation
Inflammation is a fundamental biological process that sits at the centre of modern chronic disease, moving far beyond the vague and often misleading way the term is used in popular health culture. Rather than treating inflammation as something inherently harmful, it is reframed as a vital, protective response that becomes problematic only when it is repeatedly and inappropriately activated.
Chronic inflammation is shown as the common thread connecting fatigue, brain fog, low mood, joint pain, metabolic dysfunction, and weight gain, as well as serious long-term conditions such as cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, cancer, neurodegeneration, and autoimmune disorders. This perspective allows symptoms that often feel random or overwhelming to be understood as different expressions of the same underlying biological terrain. By grounding inflammation in clear mechanisms and everyday relevance, the groundwork is laid for using nutrition and culinary strategies as powerful tools to repeatedly calm inflammatory signalling, support resolution, and reshape long-term health outcomes in a way that is both scientifically rigorous and practically achievable.

 Culinary Medicine
This what truly sets us apart from every other teaching establishment and is an area that our founder Dale Pinnock aka 'The Medicinal Chef' pioneered globally. Culinary Medicine. this is where we use solid evidence based nutritional theory to create therapeutic recipes and meal plans that are designed to target specific ailments and issues. This is how food becomes medicine. Every module we take all of the science and theory into the kitchen so you learn how to truly apply it too.Â
